Phuong Anh Do, Director of FACHPACK at NürnbergMesse, expressed her enthusiasm:
“Preparations are in full swing, and we are excited to welcome packaging professionals from across Europe this September. Nuremberg will once again become the hub of packaging innovation, where together we shape the future.”
According to Do, 54% of exhibitors will come from the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), while the rest represent markets across Europe.
Unlike many trade shows, FACHPACK is highly practice-oriented, placing packaging at the core of discussions. The event does not just showcase concepts but emphasizes real-world applications in sustainability, automation, and resource efficiency.
“FACHPACK is about cooperation, sharing ideas, and developing concrete solutions,” Do added.
From eco-packaging and raw material innovation to automation and digitalization, the exhibition provides solutions that directly address market needs.
Consumer Confidence: According to GfK, Germany’s consumer sentiment in July 2025 remained weak due to conflicting income expectations and economic uncertainty.
Trade Policies: The recent tariff agreement with the U.S. had mixed impacts, favoring automotive sectors but creating uncertainty for machinery exporters, including packaging equipment makers.
Cost Pressures: Rising raw material costs and weaker demand have slowed investment in the packaging machinery industry.
These challenges will be at the heart of discussions during FACHPACK 2025 forums and side events.
PACKBOX (Hall 4): Expert-driven sessions on EU packaging regulations (PPWR), circular economy, and climate strategies.
INNOVATIONBOX (Hall 7): Exhibitor-led pitches on breakthrough products and technologies.
SOLPACK 6.0 (Hall 3): A forum on sustainable packaging solutions, moderated by Peter Desiléts of Pacoon GmbH.
FACHPACK will also feature a range of networking and knowledge-sharing events:
FuturePack Summit (Sept 22): Connecting startups with investors and industry leaders.
WOMEN4PACKAGING (Sept 23): A platform for women professionals in packaging to share insights, hosted with leaders such as Steffanie Rainer (Reo) and Simone Mosca (Mosca GmbH).
German Packaging Award Ceremony: Honoring 37 winners across 10 categories, with over 200 entries from 15 countries.
Student Day (Sept 25): Workshops, competitions, and career opportunities for the next generation of packaging talent.
FACHPACK.TV Live Broadcasts: Daily coverage with interviews, debates, and trend updates.
Converting Meets Packaging (Hall 7): A debut section uniting processing and packaging industries, covering coating, laminating, printing, and adhesive technologies.
Alternative Packaging Solutions (Hall 3): Featuring 14 companies showcasing sustainable materials, such as grass-based paper, compostable bags, and cereal husk-based interior products.
Young Innovators & Newcomer Zone: Startups and first-time exhibitors present disruptive ideas supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
From a producer’s standpoint, FACHPACK is not just an exhibition—it is a strategic platform. Manufacturers use it to validate new technologies, scout for sustainable material suppliers, and forge cross-industry partnerships.
In an era of fluctuating consumer demand and rising material costs, collaboration is becoming the industry’s greatest resource. Exhibitors who bring solutions that combine cost efficiency with environmental responsibility are expected to gain the strongest traction in 2025.
